Australian Heirs Wanted To Clam Money and Pr. perty during 1908 Sir, — Comparatively few people in the Commonwealth have am idea of the immense number of peisftns or their descendants who aie annually being sought for by advertisement ni Austialian and New Zealand newspapers, to claim moneys and estates belonging to them in the United Kingdom and abroad, or tor something to their advantage and of these few, a still smaller number of those beneficially interested ever have an opportunity of seeing the advertisements, or the legal notices which are from lime to time ordered to be inserted by the Chancery Courts of England and Ireland, and the Superior Courts of Scotland. Uoualh these appear in the London Gazette and in many instances in Australian and New Zealand newspapers. It would be impossible to furnish space in your valuable journal for even a tithe of the names of such persons, but it may be interesting- to your readers and in some instances may perchance lead to a welcome New Year's gift, if I give a short selection, taken at random, from the many which have been published in the Australian and New Zealand press. In the following- list all (he persons referred to. or their next of kin, or legal personal representatives are supposed to be in Australia or New Zealand, and have been advertised for by solicitors, executors, and others abroad to "claim moneys or property, or for something- to their advantage : — The daughter or next of kin of Leroy Francis an Australian, who diqd recently in California leaving- considerable property which will revert to the State of California if not claimed ; Catherine Marg-aret, and Ro<=anna Coughlin, sisters, left Whera Kings County about 1870 or their descendants : Thomas and Murdoch McGreg-or ; William Jackson Nicholson of Lancashire ; Wyatt Mannincr. son of Joseph Manning, of Burwell.
