BAPTIST BIBLE CLASS SOCIAL.

The social given by the Baptist Young Men's Bible Class in the schoolroom, Baptist Church, hast night, was largely attended, and proved very successful in every way. The chair was occupied hy Mr G. R. Marriner, F.R.M.S., the class loader. The. first part of the programme consisted 1 of instrumental and vocal ""-terns, to which the following contributed — Misses Ethel and Florrie Randall, pianoforte duet; Mrs E. M. Smith, Mrs Howe, Miss A. James, Mr A. Morrison (encored), Mr E, Chesßwass, Mr G. R. Marriner, songs; Miss H. Crichton-Imrie, pianoforte s'.lo, Messrs G. Fear, J. Holland, G. Marriner and. R. L. Price, recitations; and needless to say ail received their well deseived rounds ot applause. Mr J. H. Harper, Mr G. Carson, and Rev. A. S. Wilson eulogised the work the class was doing, and on behalf of the guests expressed thanks for the kind invitation and enjoyable evening spent. During the interval, a collection was taken in aid of the class furniture fund, which was augmented by £3. After a very refreshing supper, provided by the young men, had been, partaken of, the second part of the programme was commenced and after five or six good old English games, the boeial closed with the benediction.

In St. Paul's Hall this evening, at 8 o'clock, Mr <T. E. Dunhill, examiner for the Associated Board of the R.A.M. and the X.C.M. will present their certificates to the successful candidates. This will be followed by a lecture on "Melody, ' by Mr Dunhill, in whose capable hands sucji a. subject is sure to be ably dealt with. Admission Is, candidates frae.
