Wairarapa Weather

MASTERTON, October I. During September the sun shone in Masterton a daily average of seven hours 19 minutes. This is a much higher record than for the same month for the two previous years. Yesterday there was continuous sunshine for 12 hours. The sunshine during the last month in the Wairarapa was equal to an ordinary November record. Lambing is exceptionally favourable, and there is a vigorous growth of grass. The total rainfall for September was a little over an inch and a half. There has been no such dry September since 1901, when October, November, and December only aggregated six inches, but during the following January over four inches fell.
