(Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 30. Mr Day, S.M., to-day fined Clyde Winthorp Cracroft Wilson £5 and coste for having signed a false and fictitious name to a claim for enrolment. The accused was also charged with wilfully misleading the registrar of electors, but this charge was dismissed. Wilson wa« a canvasser employed at 103 per day by the Licensed Victuallers' Association to canvass the city and place names on the roll. He sent in a return to the Association, who forwarded to the registrar those that were formal. The defence was that Bowmont wag added to a lady claimant's name by inadvertence, and gross carelessness, but that there had been no desire to mislead. The Victuallers' Aasociation acted in good faith and were exonerated.
