DRINK AND DIVORCE.

(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 29. At a meeting in connection with the No-license movement, Mr C. J. Tv/iks, who presided, said that, terrible as the drink evil was, it was not the only toi rce of trouble to the people of the Dominion. The extra facilities granted in New Zealand for the obtaining of divorce might have even more far-reaching effects than the drink evil. The Rev. R. B. S. Hammond, of the Sydney Anglican Mission, denounced the New Zealand divorce law as a scandal to the community, and he also referred to the Judicial statement that a large proportion of the divorce cases were due to the drinking habits of a nation.
