AN ITALIAN MARATHON RACE.
ROME, September 28. The Marathon race organised at Milan by the newspaper "'II l Recolo," attracted 8000 entries. Doctors would not allow 30d of these to compete. Rosa, a Milanese youth, won in 54 minutes 6 seconds. Dorando refused to have anything to do with the race owing to dissensions.
f FEILDING, ' September 29. A Feilding and District Public Schools Amatenr Athletic Association was formedlast night, which '"ill embrace about 25 schools in the Wanganui Education Board's district. The first annual sports gathering is to be held in February next.
