DARING BANK SWINDLE.

Received September 23, 8.50 a.m. LONDON, September 28. A daring bank swindle is reported. A secret code word from the Sharlesden branch of the London and South-western Bank, intimating- the transfer thence of £760 belonging to a customer, waa received at the Catford branch, where an account was forthwith opened. The,supposed customer withdrew . £290, and departed in an automobile to repeat the same operation at seven other branches, each of which received a similar notice. The total amount scooped by the swindle was £2320.
