MANGAWHERO ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Mangawhero Road Board was held on Saturday, July 4th, at 10.30 a.m. Present — Messrs D. Ma6on (chairman), Hamilton, and Speed.

UPOKONGARO FERRY— OnIy one tenler. that of Rupuha Himona, was received for the lease of the ferry, and it was resolved to accept same.

CORRESPONDENCE.— The following inward corresnondence was read: — Letters from Commissioner of Crown Lands, forwarding schedules of thirds and fourths; Chief Surveyor of Department of Roads, asking for a return of roads and bridges; Receiver of Land Revenue, re fixed deposit; Valuer-General re annual subsidy; clerk of Mataongaonga Road Board re {iver Bank load; secretary of Harbour Board, and D. Fleming, re road at quar-

RIVER BANK ROAD.— The foreman's estimate of cost of metalling this road. £182 2s, was received.

UPOKONGARO DEVIATION.— A letter was read from Messrs Dix and Marchant. forwarding plans and specifications for the proposed deviation. — Resolved, on the moion of Mr Speed, that the Chairman be authorised to interview the surveyors, and arrange with, them to call for tenders for the -roposed work, returnable bfeore next meeting. ACCOUNTS.— Accounts amounting to £96 Ps lid were passed for payment.
