PERSONAL

Mr. D. Seaward, A.E.C.A., the newly appointed art instructor to the Wanganui Education Board, arrived here by this afternoon's southern express, accompanied by Mrs Seaward. Mr Seaward reached Wellington yesterday in the Tongariro, from London. He brings with him excellent credentials, and was selected in London for the position by the New Zealand High Commissioner. The new instructor will fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr D. E. Hutton, and will no doubt prove himself a worthy addition to the educational staff of instructors now engaged by the Board.

Captain Edwin wired at 1 p.m. to-day: — Westerly moderate to strong winds; glass fall, but rise slowly- after sixteen hours; tides good; sea moderate.
