A Nelson Grievance.

NELSON, April 10.

At a meeting of the committee of the Horticultural Society, the secretary reported having asked Mr Kirk, Government Biologist, to loan the Department's fruit models for display at the coming show. A reply was received that Mr Kirk was. unable to comply with the request, as the Department's museum had been relinquished, and the models stored in some inaccessible place. Mr Graham, M.P., communicated with the Minister, and a reply was received, stating that the boxes of models were temporarily packed away, until accommodation was secured for the agricultural museum. Hence, the Department regretted tlint it could not get at them to lend them. Mr McNab adds, "No one regrets this more than myself." Much disappointment was expressed at the reprivation for the coming show* of an exhibit of such educational value, and the temporary loss to orchardists of models costing much money an^. time in callection. The committee carried a resolution regretting that so valuable and instructive a collection was not available for public instruction. •
