Appreciation of Decision to Visit Auckland,

AUCKLAND, April 9. Mayor Myers has expressed to Mr PrickettJ the United States Consul-Gene-ral, on behalf of the citizens, his appreciation that the American fleet is to honour New Zealand with a visit. He assured him that no effort would be wanting to make the fleet's stay here enjoyable. The Consul expressed his thanks, and stated that the exact date had not yet been fixed, but it was unlikely it would be before the end of August !
