Charge against a Farmer.
Daniel Sargent, a middle-aged farmer, residing on 200 acres 25 miles from Timaru, has been committed for trial at the Supreme Court, charged with wilfully .killing a horse by shooting it and also "With wounding three others. The horses belonged to a neighbour, with whom the accused was on very friendly terma. There was no motive for the deed.
