Lionel Terry is stated to be taking his incarceration in LytWton Gaol very philosophically, and he has as yet given his custodians no trouble.

Mr S. Harris, of Little Eiver, has, been asked to come forward as a candidate for the Ellesmere seat at the general election. Mr Harris has consented to do so, and will commence an active canvass on his return from England: Mr. C. Ansell, who for the past four years has been check clerk at the local Telegraph office, has received well deserved promotion to the charge of the telephone department Auckland. He left for the North this morning, and carries with him the best wishes of many friends for his future success.
