(jeer United Press Association.) MASTERTON, February 18. The M&sterton Show opened to-day, liatii commenced ta fall in the afternoon and continued for a short period. The entries constitute a recotd in the history of tlie Associatino, being ever 1800, the largest i ntries received tor any Show in the Dominion. The class of stock aii round is good, Hit' cattle and the Komneye and Lincolns oeing particularly good. The championshirs were won as follow.*: — Romnoy ewe, W. B. Allen; ram, E. Perry; Shropshires, ram, Scth Smith; Shorthorn bull, trustees D. Mr Master; heifer, estate John Deans; thoroughbred stallion, C. McCullough's Porirua; Hereford cow, McGregor; bull, G. F. Moore; Jerseys, bull, P. Hunter; cow, W. Hand; pigs, boar, S. R. Lancaster; sow, T. P. Lett; Tam worth boar W. Morris; sow, J. E. White; Yorkshire boar. E. W. Wilson; sow, J. E. White. The competitions resulted as follows: — Maiden Jumping, R. T. Sanson's Moana; Hunters' Leaping, W. Strang's Caroline; Mounted Infantry Competition, Feilding 1, Mastoi ■ ton 2.
