ARBITRATION COURT.
Award in Painters' Case.
(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. June 7
The Clerk of Awards lias received Irom th-e President of the Arbitration Court an award which embodies the agreement arrived at between the employers iv the paint iug and decorating trade and the Amalgamated Society of Painters and Decorators. It provides for the payment of a minimum wage of Is 3d per hour, with overtime rates for all work done after eight hours have been worked per day. Preference to Unionists is conceded in the award, and it makes it compulsory for every iion-unioni.->t at present working for any employer in the trade to become x member ot the union within two weeks of tho award coining into operation (next week.)
