At the Magistrate's Court, to-day, the Lev in Co-operative Dairy Company and the llorowhenua Co-operative Poultry Company weie lined 4Us, with costs £3 Kte, tor tailing to supply the Registrar of Companies with a libt ol members and, a summary for the year, as required by law. At the Magistrate's Court to-day the hearing was resumed of the charge again&t Charles Dunn and Frank Morrah, alias Ja.s. Morrah, of woundiiig Gufitay Orenburg. This was a case partly heard last week, in which the defendants were alleged to have grievously assaulted Grenl>eig during a squabble at a "two-up" school. After hearing further evidence for the prosecution the case was again adjourned. PALMERSTON N.. June 8. At Ihe S.M. Court this morning William Tie was charged with permitting opium smoking on his premsies on the night of May 29th, and was fined JES and costs £+ 12« 6d. Tie together with Ah Sue, Ah Quong, and Ah Ling, was £1 and cofcta on a charge of smoking opium. AUCKLAND, Juno 8. Leopold Muir, the young man who was arrested on arrival from Wellington and charged with threatening to shoot a young woman in Auckland and lias been reuiandi ed Irom time to time, has been examined f by a doctor who certified him to be quite sane. Muir, who said he did not remember making any threat, wa9 convicted and bound over to keep the peace for 12 months in two sureties of £2o each and. his own bond for .£5O. CHRISTCHURCH, June 8. At the Magistrate's Court to-day George Frances Henry wa9 sentenced to a month's imprisonment for theft of Mo odd from a woman who gave it to him to send by post. Henry Rowley, to charges of forging and uttering cheques, pleaded guilty, and was remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence. GREYMOUTH, June 8. At the S.M.
