Prest Association.— Telegraph.— Copy rigkt. Received June 8. 7.30 a.m. LONDON, June 7 A number of financiers interested im Victoria gave a luncheon to Mr Bent. Mr I-'aithhil Beggr, presiding:, objected to the toue of Mr W. M. Hughes' recent speeches and said they wore calculated only to produce a feeling of unreet. Mv Bent ensured the gathering that they weic perfectly safe in investiug their money in Victoria where most of the Labour'leaders, had a substantial vo.vted interest in the State. He was willing to pledge himself that future legislation would in no way interfere with legitimate investment. Victoria, lie added, iaithlully observed her obligation.
