The announcement is made to-day of the names of the King's Counsel appointed, all the applicants' names were forwarded o the Chief Justice who recommended the Following ten:— Messrs H. D. Bell, M. Chapman, C. P. Skerrett aud Dt. J. U. Findlay (Attorney-General) (Wellington) ; the Hon. J. A. Tole, 8.A., L.L.8., and tfr F. E. Baume, L.L.B. (Auckland); Ueaiirs T. J. Joynt and T. W. Stringer Christchurch) ; Messrs J. H. Hosking and ■>. Solomon, B.A. (Dunedin). The Chief Justice, in a covering letter. tay« that if the "honour is to be appretiathJ not more than ten should be appointed. Wellington is given four and the other ccn/res two each, because two- Judges sit in Wellington And the Appeal Court also sits here. In making the recommendations, leniority and continued service at the Bar vere considered, and other, things being ■qua! University degrees were" weighed in 'avour of a candidate. The gentlemen recommended will receive heir Letters Patient on taking the usual >atli of office.
