SALE OF A HURDLER.

(Par United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 19. The- hurdle horse Nestator was sold by auction thia morning, and realised 530 guineas. He was purchased by a local owner, W. Davies. Owners are reminded that nominations for all the events at the winter meeting of the Wanganui J.C. are due on Friday next at 9 p.m. with Mr W. Hall, secretary. Nominations for the Great Northern Hurdles, Great Northern Steeplechase, and Winter Steeplechase close with Mr J. F. Hartland, secretary, on Friday next at 9 p.m. ' It is understood that D. Price will leave for Australia after the Wellington meeting taking with him Submarine, Pink 'Un and some yearlings. A Melbourne admirer of Carbine \\ae compiled a a list of tne winnings of the horse's progeny in various parts of the world. It amounts to the substantial sum of £128,170. made up as follows: — England, .£66,493; Australia, ,£49.291; France, i' 10,000; Belgium, .£1500; New Zealand, .£B7B. At a committee meeting of the Auckland Racing Club, held last evening, the secretary J. F. Hartland) submitted a statement of accounts of the recent autumn meeting, which showed a profit of^ i 5609. Accounts amounting to ,£429 were passed for payment. Only nine different Horses ran in the two steeplechases at Randwick, and of that number Rongoa, Karamba and Auriculum were killed, Arrawatta so badly injured that he will never race again, even if ho recovers, and After Dark lamed. Rongoa and Auriculum, who were billed in Second Steeplechase, both carried the colours of Mr "A. Douglas," and it is a remarkable instance of bad luck for an owner to lose two horses in one race.
