Letter boxei hays been erected in the following localities and will be cleared daily after to-day:— Opposite Collegiate School, 5 and 10 a.m., 1 and 7 p.m. Gonville Railway Station, 2 p.m. Commencing on tho 7th Decmber the direct steamer from Wellington to Sydney will be despatched every third Friday, so as to make a cloee connection with the Suez mail leaving Sydney on Tuesday afternoon. The mail will therefore be closed at Wanganui every third week on the pre-. ceding Thursday.

HOLIDAY NOTICES. ' XMAS AND NFJW YEARS DAY. The post office will be closed in all branches on the above days. No delivery will be made by the letter carriers. Mails usually despached on the Tuesdays, the 25th December and Ist January, 1907, will close on Mondays, 24th and 31st December at S p.m. A delivery of corrcspondencs will be made over the counter between 7 and 8 p.m. on 24th and 31flt instants. BOXING DAY. The post office will be open in all branches except money order and savings Bank on 26th December, 1906, between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. only. The usual despatch of mails up to 8 a.m. will be made and one complete delivery by the letter carriers. THE TELEGRAPH OFFICE Will be dpen from 9.30 to 10 a.m. and 5 to 5.30 p.m. on 25th December (Christmas Day); from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight on 26th December (Boxing Day) and Ist January, 1907 (New Year's Day).
