FEILDING J.C. SPRING MEETING.

SECOND DAY

The above gathering was brought to a most successful conclusion yesterday, when the weather was gloriously fine, and the attendance again very large. Speculation was brisk, the investments for the day totalling ,£13,212, against J10.992 for the second day last year. The total put through the totalisator during the two days by Messrs Neylon and Spriggene — who had charge of the machines — amounted to ,£26,658, as compared with £21,600 last year, an increase of J65058. The management of the meeting throughout was firstcla®3, and the racing of the most enjoyable description. The fields were large, and the finishes very interesting, whilst the dividends were large, all testifying to the manner in which Mr J. E. Henrys had concealed the winners by his clever handicapping. Mr Edmund Goodbehere, the Becretary, and his fellow officials are to be congratulated on the record success attained. Those who had the pleasure of attending the fixture all united in declaring that it was the most enjoyable of the many successful meetings held by the club. The following are the details: — YORK STAKES, of 150 sove.; six furlongs. 178— Mr J. Symon's b.g. LORD SOULT, by Torpedo — Bonny Blink, aged, 7.2 (R. Cameron) : 1 389— Mr J. H. Prosser'a b. f.
