" The Tram- | . ways Act, 1804." aud otbe'- Act* euabliug it in thut behalf of an Electric Tramway along the streets of the Borough and outside the Uorougli lo a point in the Waitotara Comity on the River Bunk Road and the providing of Electric Tram-cars, powerhouse, car-shed, and all land, buildings, machinery, appli* uces, plant, apparatus and thn^ necessary or convenient for thr purpose of roust met in?, maintaining and working such Tramway and for the extension of such Tramway and all things incidental thereto or used in connection therewith. The Council propones to establish a Sinking Fund during the currency of the loan of One Pound Ton Shillings pc v centum per annum on the amount for the time being of the said loan actually borrowed for or towards payment of such loan at its maturity and to appropriate and pledge by way of security to provide for the payment of interest on sueh 1 Special Loan and the payment of such Sinking Fund an annually recurring Special Rate of Eightpence in the £ on Hie annual value of all rateable ro|f"*'y within the Borough. AND FURTHER to appropriate and pledge by way of further security for the repayment of the said Loan aud Interest : (a) A Mortgage under the • v ovi&i«.ps of " The Tramways Act, 189*," of the said Tramway and all works, ears, rolling stock, equipment, material and plant, rights and powers connected with the Tramway, and (b) Under the provisions of " The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901," and the amendments thereof the said Tramway and tho subject matter of the loan and the revenue therefrom. Tho whole of the Loan is to be l'epayable at the, expiration of Twenty Years from the raising of the Loan. It is proposed to pay out of the Loan moneys the cost of raising the loan and the firet yeara's interest on the Loan during the construction of the 6aid works. THE WANGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL hereby gives public notice that it proposes to raise a Special Loan of TEN THOUSAND POUNDS for the following undertaking: — The Extending and Enlarging of the Borough Gas Works ia the following respects : — (1) Construction or providing of Tar-tank, New Washer, Coke-crusher Hopper and Engine complete, Extensions to Purifying Sheds and Pipes. New Exhauster. Machine for convoying Coal trom Store- into Retorthouse (2) Extensions to Retort-house and Coal Store 2000 (3) Providing and Laying Mains, Service Pipes, and Meters... 2000 (4) Providing and Constructing • Gas-holder a»d Tank 4000 je 10,000 AND to establish a Siuking Fund during the currency of the Loan of Two Pounds per centum per annum on tho amount for the time being of the said Loan actually borrowed for or towards repayment of such Loan at its maturity and to appropriate and pledge by way of fieciirity to provide for the payment of the interest on such Special Loau and the payment of such- Sinking Fund an annually recurving Special Rate of Threepence in the Pound on the annual value of all rateable property within the Borough . The whole of the Loan vb to be repayable at the expiration of fifteen years from the raising of the Loan. It is not proposed to pay out of the Loan moneys the cost of raising the Loan or the first year's interest on tbo Loan during the construction of the said works.
