Amusements Salvation Army SELF DENIAL ANNUAL APPEAL FROM OCTOBER 13tli to 19th. Dear Reader, — Once more tfie Salvatien Army's Week of Prayer and Self-denial has come round, and once more we wit»h to make to you the appeal that has always been l/eartily responded to in the past. As you may be aware, .the Salvation Army has no endowments from which to derive funds for _its work ; it hae to depend solely upon voluntary contributions. Once a year we devote a special week to the raising of funds for our social work, and that we term self-denial week. Explanation of the meaning is unnecessary. Tho rescue department is the principal feature of that work, and to na the poor and the needy, the unfortunate and the sick, come for assistance. This assistance we can give if we have the funds, and we therefore make this appeal. Will you help? If so, kindly enter your name and gift below, and send it to ADJUTANT G.
