Dear Reader, — Once more the Salvatien Army's Week of Prayer and Solf-denial has come round, and once more we wish to make to you the appeal that has always been heartily responded to in the past. Aa you may be aware, the Salvation Army has no endowments from which to derive funds for its work; it has to depend solely upon voluntary contributions. Once a year we devote % special week to the raising of funds for our social work, and that we term self-denial week. Explanation of the meaning is unne'eesoary. The reaouo department is the principal feature of that work, and to us the poor and the needy, the unfortunate and the sick, come for assistance. This assistance we can give if we have th» funds, and we therefore make this appeal. Will you help? If so, kindly enter your name and gift below, and send it to ADJUTANT G. DICKENS, 25, Churton Street, or Box 154, Wanganui. (CUT THIS OUT.). Name Address tf Amount: £ s d. Barnett & Remington, <Ute J. Dmn lAaasrr.) Watcbnakeri , Jiwellen, Eogri? in, ud Dliaoi! Setters.
