Last night the Stormbird and Waverley departed for Wellington and the Putiki left for Giaborne via Wellington, with a cargo of spiral riveted pipes for the Gisborne water works. The former vessel is due here again to-moirow or Saturday. The Stcrm is expected to-morrow night or Saturday morning from the usual southern ports. She will return Bouth again. This- morning the Huia arrived with a general cargo from Wellington. She returns there a^ain to-night. The Muritai came in last night from Onehunga and Opunake, bringing sugar, lime, manure, drain pipes, and general cargo. She returns north again at 10 o'clock to-night. ! The Moa got away for Greymouth this morning with a shipment of cattle. The Oreti leaves Westport to-day for New Plymouth, and will then come on to this port for a load of cattle for Westport, being due on Saturday. The little cteamer Mascotto which has been purchased by the Wanganui Harbour Board for towing operations in connection with port improvements, arrived at Wellington on Tuesday afternoon, from Auckland, via Gisborne, en route to Wanganui. She left Wellington again last evening at 6.40 o'clock, and should arrive here thi* evening. Captain W. Nicholson is in charge of the launch, and reported a fine weather passage down the East Coast. The Mascotte was built at Sydney in 1883, and her principal dimension's are: — Tonnage, 27 gross, 18 net; length, 58ft; beam, 13ft; depth, sft 6in. The vessel, before continuing her journey from Wellington, effected some minor repairs. The Manapouri arrived at Auckland on Tuesday from Fiji, and is due at Wellington to-day. The lonic, bound from London to Wellington, resumed her voyage from Capetown on Saturday last. The steamer Breiz Izel is at present en route from Bunbury, West Australia, for Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland, with I a total cargo of 2,064,000 feet of timber, 440.000 feet of which are for Wellington. A new sister shio to the Kaituna, which has been named tho Kaiapoi, has been purchased by the Union Coy. at Messrs Osborn, Graham and Co.'c shipbuilding yards.
