Jews Petition Kins Edward Preparing for Further Massacres Press Association.— Telegraph.— Copyright. Received Septeber 19, 11.9 P-m. ST. PETERSBURG, September 19. Seventeen of the 6ailors sentenced in connection with the Sverborg mutiny were shot yesterday. Eighty others were sentenced to penal servitude and service with tho disciplinary battalions, and eleven were acquitted. Gunboats and troops stopped the Warsaw traffic on the river and in the streets in one district while the soldiers searched 900 of the inhabitants^
LONDON, September 19. The Jews have petitioned King* Edward to intercede with the Czar regarding the Siedlce Jews.
Sir Charles Hardinge. in response to a deputation, telegraphed to Sir Arthur Nicolson, the British Ambassador at St. Petersburg, concerning the reports of preparations for massacres at Warsaw and elsewhere.
