ORANGE BLOSSOMS.

Bassett- Rusden.

A wedding in which considerable interest was shown was solemnised in the Wesleyan Church at 2 o'clock this afternoon, the parties to the ceremony being Mr Lewis H. Bassett, son of Mr W. B. Bassett, and Miss Eva May Rusden, third daughter of the late Mr Thomas Rusden, of New Plymouth. The altar of the church was decorated with spring flowers. The service was choral, the choir — of which the newly-married couple were both members — contributing appropriate hymns. The service was conducted by the Rev. J. G. Chapman. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr C. E. Horraann, and was prettily attired in a creme crepe de chine, nicely trimmed with silk chiffon and goffered ribbon. She wore the customary veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss May Rusden, youngest sister of the bride, Miss Myra Bassett, sister of the bridegroom, and little Miss Hazel Hormanu, neice of the bride. The formed was dressed in a dress of silk crepoline, trimmed with silk insertion and chiffon, and her hat wag of pale blue, relieved with pink. Miss Bassett wore a former was dressed in a dress of silk insertion and chiffon, her hat also being of pale blue, set off with pink, while Miss Hormann was attired in a dainty white silk dress with lace trimmings, and a white chiffon hat. Mr Louis W. Bassett, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr Peter Thomson groomsman. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome gold muff chain, and to the two elder bridesmaids pearl and gold pendants, the little bridesmaid receiving a pearl and gold brooch. After the Ceremony was over the guests adjourned to the T.Y.M.I. Hall, where they were entertained. Mr and Mrs Bassett, it is needless to say, were the recipients of numerous and valuable presents. The happy couple left for Wellington by the 4.40 train this afternoon, and we are sure thewill carry with them the good wishes of a large circle of friends that their wedded life may be a long and happy one. The bride's travelling dress was a bright grey costume, with pink straw hat, trimmed with chiffon and pink roses.
