Altering a Cheque.
MASTERTON, September 19.
At the Police Court this morning James Downey pleaded guilty to a charge of forging and uttering a cheque for =£17 16s lid, on or about April 10th, 1905, and was committed to the Supreme Court ior sentence. The amount of the cteque had been altered by accused from £7 to .£l7.
