CONTRACT WORK IN MASTERTON

MASTERTON, September 19. The Borough Council is experiencing unprecedented difficulty in regard to contract work. At last night's meeting tenders for several different works were rejected owing to the prices quoted being considerably in excess of the money available for the work. As a number of ablebodied men are out of employment in the town, it has been suggested that the work be carried out by day labour.
