SYDNEY, September 17. With reference to Lady Aberdeen's letter, Miss Rose Scott, who is international secretary of the National Council of Women at Sydney, explains that the mat. ter came up at a meeting of the -Council' recently. Sir John Cockburn, Mr B. R. Wise, and other Anglo-Australians were present at a meeting^ in London which' advocated that cultured women ' shduld be sent to Australia to conduct b*e> farms, and to d 6 similar light work on. the land. The Sydney Council protested against the proposal,' holding that it would be a very dangerous experiment, as such women would not kntfw the conditions obtaining in this country, and if- they ofcme out would find theV* were attempting an almost impossible task.
