Government Inquiry Promised

Heccivcd July 5, 8.52 a.m. SYDNEY, July 5. The Railway Commissioners have promised the fullest enquiry into the tramway employees' grievances. Last night's meeting of the Tram Employees' Union endorsed the action of the executive and pledged itself to support tho latter. The meeting granted ten shillings a day to Mr Lawton until his case ia settled, and also decided to petition Parliament to allow him to appear at the bar of the House with reference to the men's grievances, ajid in support of a Commission of Inquiry.
