Sir, — I sincerely regret to learn of Mrs Hoey's enforced retirement through illhealth. Twenty-three years ago this month I alten'aed Mrs Hoey's school. I have a lively recollection of Mrs Hoey's kindness to me when a small Doy at the Infant School in Wanganui. Will you accept the enclosed cheque as a small contribution towards the Hoey Presentation Fund. 1 trust your effort will meet with .success, and that the presentation may be commensurate with tne splendid services rendered the people and Wanganui by Mrs Hocy. — I am, etc.,
