THE NEW GAS ENGINEER.
At a special meeting of the Borough Council, held yesterday afternoon, Mr G. D. Stone, manager of the municipal gasworks of Bathurst, New South Wales, was unanimously appointed engineer to the Wanganui Corporation Gasworks, in succession to Mr Geo. Smithies. Mr Stone will take up his new duties on the- Ist January. There ware :M applicants for tho posili >n.
