Public Notices. "THE ELECTORAL ACT, 1905." NOTICE OF POLLING-DAY. IN pursuance of "The Electoral Act. 1905." I, THOMAS DICK CUMMINS, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Wanganui, do hereby gfive notice that, by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 22nd day of November, 1905, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as member for the said district; and that the latest day ior receiving nominations of candidates will be the 28th day of November, 1905 ( ; and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several polling-places of the said district on the 6th day of December, 1905. Every man desirous of becoming a candidate must be nominated by not less than two electors of the district, by a nomina-tion-paper as prescribed by section 97 of the said Act, delivered to the Returning Officer on or before the 28th day of November, 1905. And I further give notice that under the "Licensing Act, 1895." a Local Option Poll will be held at the same time and place. The following are the polling-places for the Electoral District of Wanganui: — THE DRILL HALL (Principal). SCHOOL-HOUSE, Liverpool Street A.B.C. HALL. Aramoho. COUNCIL OFFICES, Eastown. IN pursuance of "The Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act. 1895," I Thomas Dick Cur.iniins, Returning Officer for the Wanganui Licensing District, do hereby give notice that on the 6th day of December, 1905, the day appointed for taking the Electoral Foil of the Electors of tho Electoral District of Wanganui, simultaneously therewith a Licensing Poll will be taken upon tho following proposals: — 1. I vote that- the number of licenses existing in the district continue. 2. I vote that the number of licenses existing in the district be reduced. 3. I vote that no licenses be granted in the district. Nominations for the appointment of scrutineers in accordance with "The Licensing Poll Regulation Act, 1899." must be lodged with me not later than 5 o'clock in the afternoon of the 29th day of November, 1905. And I hereby give notice th.it I shall, on the Ist day of December, 1905, at the hour of 9 o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, Ridgway Street.
