There were several very fine entries for exhibition only. Mr J. T. Sinclair has ;i splendid show of palms, ferns, and pot flowers and cut blooms. His roses were -really magnificent, noticeable among them being Fran Carl Druschi, Madame Louis Poncct, Irish Beauty, and many other line specimens. A novelty was a young variegated cabbage tree, while a large ornamental asparagus claimed special attention. Messrs W. T. Benefleld and Sons havo a splendid display of pot plants and cut blooms, roses being a specially big display, some lovely blooms being shown. A leading feature of this exhibit, is the display of rhododendrons, of which 30 varieties are shown. Messrs J. Wcightman and Sons, of Awahuri, have a very iine exhibit. As in tin other exhibits, roses are a leading feature, the best of the new varieties b-injr Gcnora. Galk-ni, Dean Hole, and General MncArlbnv. A very tino specimen of boronia in bloom ib also shown, wltile there is a fine collection of 24 varieties of Japanese maple. Much attention was also attracted by a Kalmia Satifoia, one of the most beautiful of dwarf flowering shrubs. Roses are also a special feature of Messrs J. Laird and Sons' exhibit, one, Lady Roberts, a beautiful apricot-coloured bloom, hrinsr greatly admired. This exhibit, set oft" with pot plant-, and ferns, is fully up to the high standard reached by this wellknown firm. Mrs M. Sybil has a beautiful exhibit ->f florist's work, a half-moon lady's spray being a real gem, while a bride's shower bouquet was greatly admired. But-ton-holes .and floral emblems complete an artistic exhibit. Mr W. S. Dustin has a •w-cll arranged exhibit of art confectionery, comprising wedding and Christmas cakes with the new marzipan tops, and cosaques.
