COMMERCIAL. WELLINGTON WOOL, SHEEPSKIN AND HIDE SALES.

Murray, Koberts, and Co. report as follows : — W« catalogued 1700 sheepskins and 250 hides to-day besides a few odd lots of wool. Buyers were not strongly represented, but prices were firm for wool and skins at last rates, although the bulk of the skins were not equal to recent catalogues in qxiality or condition, inferior sorts being occasionally a little dearer. Hides were not forward in large lots, and prices hardened for all sorts. We 'quote: — Wool. — Crossbred medium B^d to lOd per lb; pieces, bellies, etc., 4£d to 62d; locks, 2d to 4d. Skins. — Merino and half bred, 8d to 9d; crossored medium to fine, 8d to 9d : crossbred coarse, 7fd to Bj[d; dead and inferior pelted, 6Jd to 8d; green skins, to '8s 2d each. Hides. — Ox, prime heavy, none offering'; ox, ordinary to good, 5d to s§& per lb; ox, inferior and slippy, 4id to sd; cow, prime, medium weights, 5Jd to s£d"; cow, ordinary, 5d to s£d; cow, inferior and slippy, 4-ld to sd; calf, sound, 5-^d to •6id; calf, damaged, 4*d to s£d. Owing to the second wool sale of the season being held on Bth December, the date of the next skin sale will be 15th December.

NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MEECANTILE AGENCY COMPANY'S EEPORT.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report: — We offered 2000 skins, 200 hides and calfskins, ami a quantity of bag wool and

i allow. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was brisk for all sound j>elted skins and for sound hides. We quote: — Skins. — Merino, halfbred, and fine crossbred, B£d to 9d; coarse crossbred, B*d to B>d; dead skins, 6£d to 7fd; short wools and inferior pelts, 5d to 7d per lb ; green skins, 6s 6d to 8s 6d ; lambs," 2s to 2s 6d ; pelts, Is to 2s 3d each. Hides were in good demand, and sold at an advance on last sales prices. We quote:— Ox, 5d to s£d; cow, 43d to 5-Jd; slippy and cut hides, 3id to 4§d; calf, sound, 5d to 6Jd; cut and damaged, 2d to 4fd per lb. Tallow.— ln tins 16s 6d to 17s Gd; casks, 21s per cwt.
