How, when, or where the damage is done must be a controversial question. The fact remains Gore is a No-license town and we fearlessly • affirm that no Wanganui Hotel= keeper would serve boys and they would have great difficulty in pro= curing liquor. NO=LICENSE, or rather No Control, sweeps this safeguard away. Oodes 1 No-License. Eighteen Sly-Grog Gases. (Per United Press Association.) ASHBUBTON, November 24. At the Magistrate's Court to-day eighteen informations against nine persons for alleged slygrog selling were called, and on the application of the police adjourned for a week. People of Wanganui— PO you realise what this means. Police=lnspector Pardy: " Enforcing the Act in the only manner possible is repugnant and degrading alike to the police and public." It means that paid informers are engaged to trap the sly-grog sellers, and then ensues the per* jury, evasion, fraud, deceit, and bitterness mentioned by Police Commissioners Tunbridge, Dinnie, and the Magistrates of the district.
