Attempted Suicide.
WAIHI, November 7. A young man named Charles Ashby, a miner at Karangahake, attempted suicide -by placing a dynamite cap in 'his mouth. His upper and lower jaws were fractured, and the roof of his mouth and teeth destroyed. His condition is precarious. Captain Edwin telegraphed as follows at noon to-day:—Moderate to strong westerly wind, glass rise, tides good, sea con- 1 siderable.
