'At a meeting held last night a Country Workers' Association was formed with the object of establishing, in the different centres' of the colony, bureaux to afford information as to work obtainable, to promote legislation to improve the living accommodation provided for country workers, to improve the social standing of' workers, and to promote good feeling between employers and employees. Officers and a general committee were elected, and the executive was empowered to draw up rules and regulations. Palmorston was gelected as the headquarters for the North Island. . Meetings will be held in the different centres at an early date by Mr A. J. Carr, organiser.
