Mr Remington Still Opposing.

WELLINGTON, August 24. , The Wanganui Suburbs Lighting Act Amendment Bill was again considered in "Committee by the House to-night. The amendments made by the Local Bills Committee in the Bill, since it was again referred to- that tribunair nave already beon published. Mr Remington again came forward as an opponent of the Bill, and was understood to say that the persons in the Eangitikei district interested in the Bill were still in ' opposition. Mr Remington was understood {to ask if Mr Willis would consent to the -insertion of a proviso dealing with the limitation of the boundaries. ■ Mr Willis, who was also, on, account of 'the din, mostly inaudible, was understood to say that ho had kept faith with the /member for Rangitikei by leaving the settlement of the area to the Local Bills Committee, which had dealt ' with the matter as already reported. ■ Mr Remington, moved a new clause, providing that the area mentioned in the Bill -be- constituted a subdivision of the Road Board.
