A number of publicans thereupon, started a . co-operative brewery and secured large support by* lowering the prices. A subsequent battle of prices has brought the value down.to 57s 6d per hogshead.', .The -secretary, of- the Brewers' Association, declared that before the battle ends beer will be sold at a penny per glass.
