Mr J. Manniner, of Palmorston, lias been selected by the New Zealand Rugby Union to referee in the rep. match, Auckland v Taranald, played at New Plymouth tomorrow. All members of the Wanganui Football Club are requested to be on the Eec. at 7.45 to-night for the purpose of a run, in view of their match on Saturday. The Kaierau juniors are requested to roll up at the Taupo Quay training shed on Friday night at 7.30 sharp. The Eangitikei-Wanganui representative match which was to have been played tomorrow at Marton has been indefinitely postponed, as the Wanganui Union has found it absolutely impossible to get a team together to make the trip. In the opinion of the Sydney Referee no better team from New South Wales ever visitad New Zealand than the Australian team at present in this colony. "It is doubtful whether any quite as good has ever gone across," adds the Referee. The Australians play a match at Nelson to-morrow against a combined Marlborough, Nelson,, and West Coast team.
