TO THE EDITOE.
Dear Sir, — Your readers, as well as yourself, editorially, will no doubt have noticed in the daily press Mr T. B. Williams' announcement as to his intention of contesting the Wanganui seat at the forthcoming general election. Also, that h© is supporting the present Liberal administration, remarking, inter alia, that "As unity is strength it will be requisite to choose one candidate so that the seat may not be lost to the party." Indulgence is asked till he has had an opportunity of placing his views beforo the electors upon present and future questions affecting their interest, no doubt meaning some different ideas of dealing with present legislative methods. If not, what has led him, -as henchman to the Party at the last general election, to desert them? Why has he cut the painter? Why is he not now — as three years ago — chairman of Mr Willis's committee meetings, leading no doubt to some extent to A. D. W.s return to Parliament ? Why this change when he so pointedly remarks that "As unity is strength it will be requisite to choose one candidate so that the seat may not be lost to the Party?' — I am,- etc., -
MICAWBEJJ.
[Our correspondent's curiosity will doubtless be gratified when he has heard
what Mr Williams has to say. Till then, it is only courtesy to that gentleman to wait, when we have no doubt he will be quite prepared to-give his reasons for his action. —Ed. W.H.]
