The Maroro Golf Club played the 4th bogey matqh of the present . season on Saturday last which resulted as follows: — Seniors. — H. Dodgshun 4 down, G. Gordon 6 down, F. Beaven 9 down, A. Johns 112 down, D. H. McKay 12 down, A. l" Howarth 6 down, F. C. Stevenson sldown, F. 8,. Parkes 8 down, W. Gordon 6 down, W. H. McLean 3 down, H. P. Lewis 1 up, the latter winning the senior button. Juniors..— E. M. Silk 1 down, Dymock 3 down, J. Inkster 6 down, Yarney 1 up, J. Ball. 4 dovfjx, Quigley. 4 down, Gibbons 8 down, P. Mcßrearty, ai* square, D. Miller Vup\ the latter being the winner. *, Entries for the Club championship (to be played next Saturday, 26th. in3t.) close on Tlmrsday next, 24th inst. Intending competitors are asked to hand in their names to the secretary before the latter • date. *
It is probable that a match between the Waverley and Patea Clubs, will be played on Saturday on, the Patea links. An attempt is being made to arrange a match between Patea and Wanganui Club. Saturday, September 2nd, has been prdposed at the date. The Waverley and Hawera Ladies' Golf Clubs play a match at Hawera on Tuesday next. _ ;
