AUSTRALIAN MA.TCH.t-J Tlie New Zealaiid:Union wrote intiinatlug that a match was to be played at Hawera on the 9th September between the Australian team and a combined Taranaki-Wanganui team,and asking the Wanganui -.Union to assist in- making the match a success: — It was resolved that this Union . joins with the -Taranaki Union. -in. the match against Australia, aad that Mr Tilldy be. deputed'- to, make all arrangements. , REP. MATCHES.— It was decided to • agree to a suggestion from £he Taranaki Union that the Taranaki-Wanganui- rep. match be played, on- Saturday, 23rd September. It had been arranged that this game, should be played on . the.. 9th September, but owing to the combined Tara-riaki-Wanganui match, against the Australians having been fixed for that date,it v/as found necessary to alter the" date of the Wanganui-Taranaki match as above. — In reply to a letter from the Horowhonua- Union, intimating tha£ they, contemplated sending a l-opresentative team to Wanganui towards the end of next month, it was decided -to- suggest that the match bo -arranged- for the 15th September. — With regard to the Aiiekland' match, .if was decided it- should* 'be played on .the 29th ins;t. on the Recreation Ground. AWAJIUA.— The Awarua Sub-Union wrote thanking the Wanganui Union for the kind treatment meted out to its representatives during their recent, visit here, and asking Wanganui to send a team to Taihapc to play a return match this season. — It v/as decided 'to reply that owing, to the number of rep. matches yet to be played it is impossible to • visit Taihapo tliis season. JUNIOR REP. MATCH.— The rapa Union wrote asking the Wanganui Union to send a junior rep. team to Masterton this season, but it. was decided to • reply that the Union could- not see its way to do as requested ■ this season. PROTEST.— The Poneke Club wrote protesting against the Melrose Club being awarded any of the matches played by them in the Thursday Shield competition, on the ground that the Melrose Club had' knowingly played two men who had not obtained their clearances from the Pirate Club. — Messrs C. Lett and G. Benson (president and secretary : -of the Melrose Club) were in attendance.rand- stated that they had no knowledge "rif v tli6 two players referred to being defaulters of the Pirate Club. — It was pointed ou'fc that the proteat, oven if upheld, could only apply to the last match. — Tho matter was held over until next meeting to permit of further inquiries being made. PERMISSION. — Permission was granted the Wanga"nui College , team to play the inter-college matches* against Wellington and Christ CollegH'at Clrristchurcli on the 29th inst and lsi! TRANSFER.— The secretary- of the JuaToa F.C. wrote asking the Union to withdraw 11. PERMISSION. — Permission, was granted to the- third fifteen of the Wanganui F.C. to play a match against Marton Junior team on the 26th inst.
