THE BEESCIAN MUSICIANS.

Paganini, the king of the violinists, performed at^a Royal concert given at the Savoy Court a love duet upon two strings of his magic fiddle. A princess of the Court, enamoured by his superb playing, said: "Signor Paganini, since you have done so well on two strings, pray let us hear a solo upon one." The virtuoso then played his ''Pregheria'' upon tho G string, which will remain famous for all times. This brilliant solo will be played byMiss Adelina Martincngo, the lady violinist of the Brcscian Company, who appear at the Opera House on Thursday next, and local violinists will have an opportunity of learning the great difficulties as well as the beauties of this solo ; indeed, Miss Martincngo is the only lady violinist who publicly performs it. From latest reports we learn that the Wellington season has been a record one, the large Town Hall being packed to the doors, and this the fourth week of the season. We strongly advise our readers who intend being present at the opening performance to book their seats or secure tickets early. We understand that it is the intention of the management to adopt the English system of entering a theatre, which has worked so well in Dunedin and elsewhere. This, we are sure, will be an improvement much appreciated by the inhabitants of our city.
