The German . violinist, Heerman, left Sydney on Saurday night for Wellington in the Warrimoo, for his New Zealand tour.
At the local office of 'the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy., Ltd., this morning, Ml* Stanley C Tyennaii, ■who has been appointed to tue position of corresponding clerk at the Hamilton branch of the Company, was met by the staff for ' the purpose ' of saying gbod-bye," and wishing him success* in'~ his new' sphere^ In handing Mr Tyerman a brief bag, suitably inscribed,, the manager (Mr John Stevenson) congi'atulated the recipient upon his promotion", and hoped success would follow 'him in his new position. Mr Tyerman feelingly replied. ' News has been received of the death in Melbourne of Mr Joseph Gibbs, civil engineer, formerly resident in Wahganui.
