HOCKEY.
A general meeting of the Association was held in the T.Y.M.I. Rooms last even- , ing. Mr Butler presided over' a good attendance of delegates. WELLINGTON MATCH.— The Wellington Association wrote that it would be impossible to get a*"team to Palmerston to play Wanganui, but suggesting a match,' in Wellington in September. — It was resolved to refer this matter to the Management Committee, as well as th© question, of return matches with Wairarapa and Canterbury, with power to act. GROUNDS. — Mr.Holloway reported that an offer had been received from Mr Haaso to take up th©- whole _of th© turf from tho, proposed Racecourse grounds, thoroughly surface level, and replace turf for i>ss. — Most delegates having signified that their teams were prepared to. bear a fair proportion of the expense, it was resolved that the offer be accepted, subject to certain conditions. A finance committee, consisting of the captains of clubs and Mr Holloway, was appointed to deal with th« matter.
TOURNAMENTA-The Wairarapa Association wrote agreeing to support a 7-asido tourney suggested- to be played in Palmerston next June: — It was decided to send a copy of the letter to the Palmerston Association.
INTERISLAND MATCH.— It was de* cided to ask that the- Inter-Island match, be played in Wanganui next year, and to also offer the suggestion tht at least three weeks' notice be given to players. NOTICE QF MOTION.— Mr Butler gay« notice that he would move at next meeting' — "That a new rule be added, providing that every new club oining .the Association shall pay an entrance fee of ~£l Is, in addition to the affiliation fee."
