Copies of the correspondence with a German Company, proposing to lay a cablei from, one of the German possessions in tho Pacific to Queensland, have been laid on the table of the House. Mr Deakin. referred the matter to tho consideration of tho Imperial Government. He expresses th© opinion that th© 'existing cables provide sufficient accommodation for tho present.
