Japan's Terms Produced.
Press Association.— Telegraph.— Copyright. Received August 11, 11.16 p.m. WASHINGTON, August 11. ■ The plenipotentiaries agreed to make all formal communications in writing. Komura handed M. de Witte Japan's peace conditions and the conference adjourned to enable the Riissians to examine them and prepare their reply. M. do Witte transmitted a cypher message to St. Petersburg, adding his own comments on the terms and his views on the best course of action. Received August 12. 12.40 a.m. WASHINGTON, August 11. The main features of the Japanese terms are the cession of Saghalien. and the reimbursement of the expenses of the war. The word "reimbursement" is used throughout instead of indemnity.
